    Default Garmin Panoptix

I've seen some youtube videos and this thing looks fantastic. Anyone have one and used it for crappie? Sure would like to hear actual user/owner comments.

Haven't seen a lot of Pan comments here, not a real heavy Garmin base here (yet/or whenever). Try some of the guys on BBC, Garmin forum. Ring Fry, Todd Driscoll, MonteSS, Larry and Leonard are but a few that come to mind. They are really good, helpful fellas. I want one to go on my 93sv and one day soon (I hope). Has to be awesome on schooling fishes. I think I want the forward pointing ps21. Will talk with Brian when time comes.

DonG has both PS30 and PS21 but he doesn't post much here ... He's well satisfied with the PS30 and fighting some interference in the PS21 ...

wilbur has just installed PS21 and waiting for its 1st journey ...

Both are posting some at BBC Garmin forum ...

Bob, you might PM Josh Jones on the Okla forum. I think he has been putting one to good use.

BassBoatCentral.com Garmin forum under the boards header

    Garmin Sonar/GPS

Rickie is correct about DonnieG. Also Larry is Larry3215 and Leonard is L____? forget. He's in NC. Both are real good along with the others mentioned. I think you'll find some help.

I just got a PS22 to go with my garmin. So far i've only been out twice. I really like it for finding structure. It's really easy to come up on a GPS marked location and then spin the trolling motor around and find it. Then drive right over it since your trolling motor is pointed at it.

Haven't found any schools of baitfish or crappie to see what those look like yet. I was mainly spider rigging. It also makes it easy to verify the depth your rig is at lol.

    Screw BBC.........talk about it here!

I have a PS-21 and have seen plenty of panfish on it. If it moves from surface to bottom and out to 100ft Panoptix will see it

If you want " pretty pictures" Panoptix is not something you would be interested. If you want to find fish the easiest ,fastest way that I know of. Then Panoptix is something you want to get as soon as you can afford.

I use both on boat and on the ice. On a small pond I can drill one hole and point out best place to fish in that pond. Gives depth , direction and location. Screen up dates entirely no history section like on all other forms of graphing. On boat in open water search in 200' circles using trolling motor mount with the PS 21.

Best analogy I can come up with. Picture bird hunting by yourself with no dog. Now same scenario but with a well trained, eager to hunt pointer.
Which case offers more chance of success.

How simple is it ? If it is moving it is a fish. No looking for shadows , small white dots yada yada.yada. Complicated to explain but easy to use. Basically plug and play be an expert at end of the day.
