    Default GPS waypoint conversion

I am trying to manually enter some waypoints in my HB 899- and I have never done it before. I have looked at several conversion tables , but can't figure out how to put the waypoint in that I have to get it to convert to HB format.

    Here is what I have:

    N35 23160 W092 61090

Here is the FORMAT that I need to convert it to:

    N35 18.116 W093 14.846

Can anyone put up a link to a conversion table that will do that AND explain to me how to enter the info I have to get it to convert??

Are you not supposed to put the letters in when using the conversion table? What about the decimal point, spaces , etc?

    Thanks

The HB unit will convert it for you ...

*Press "Menu" twice to get into the Main Menu System ...
*Cursor over to the Setup tab ...
*Cursor down to Position Format ...
*Cursor left to the selection dd.ddddd° ...
*Press Exit one time to get out of the Position Format field ...
*Cursor over to the Nav tab ...
*Cursor down to Waypoints, Routes, Tracks ...
*Cursor right to open Waypoint Management ...
    *Cursor to highlight "Options" ...
*Cursor right to open Options "Menu" ...
    *Cursor to "New" ...
*Cursor right to open "New" List ...
    *Cursor to "New Waypoint" ...
*Cursor right to open Waypoint edit "Menu" ...
*Cursor down to Latitude (or Longitude) field ...
*Cursor right/left to select box around desired character to edit ...
*Cursor Up/down to change character ...
*Cursor to "Save" when finished editing ...
*Cursor right to activate save command ...
*Press Exit repeatedly to get out of Waypoint Management ...

Now go back to the "Position Format" "Menu" under the Setup tab and change the selection back to dd°mm.mmm'

Thanks Rickie, do I have to do that whole procedure on each waypoint I want to enter, or once I get into the "new waypoint" area, can I stay there and do a bunch of them?

I tried it and figured out that you do not have to go all the way out to enter each new way point. Thanks for the advise Rickie. I;ll see if they work tomorrow on the water !!

Just remember to "Save" at the bottom left of the Waypoint edit window after each Waypoint entering ...
