Default Need advise on mounting Terrova on 03 Lowe

Looking for input/pics on mounting position on Terrova on 03 Lowe. I have a mounting bracket that allows me to slide back a good 6'' from the forward deploy position. Trying to figure out how to mount it trying to keep everything in mind so it's one a done. Where it sets in pic it's close to the head hitting chair when deployed and front corner of bracket is hanging over boat. I would have to drill new holes in bracket to get me to bolts in short side and could drill extra one on long side to get 3 bolts in that side. If I mount trolling motor inside blue tape it causes the head of motor to hang over edge of boat and worry about running it into a dock and busting it off. Also inside the tape and I would have to relocate the front running light. Looking for input. Help cray!!

That is about where mine is mounted. It has to come forward enough that the horse shoe cut out in bottom plate is clear of boat. If not motor shaft can't turn. Kind of long explanation on how I did mine. Have dentist app first thing this morning. Will try to get you some pics today or tomorrow. But short is I used 5/16 Aluminumn plate with mounting bolts to it and counter sunk machine screws through plate to bottom of motor. With the sliding bracket you should be able to do the same. May have to drill different mounting holes for bottom of bracket. Think I would move it to the left just a little if you can get enough bolts through it. With mine mounted like yours is setting and actually a little farther to the side I have never noticed any problem with steering or keeping it straight.

Now when I have the bracket in the forward position and level down from the horse shoe cut as long as I'm off the rail of the boat I should be good, right?? Even if level is only a 1/4'' from boat?? By looking at front angle of boat the farther I push it out from boat the less surface of mount I have on the boat.

Thanks cray, you and Rickie are my hero's! Mounted just a wisker to left in pic, hope it will work good. Pick up batteries Saturday and now figuring where to mount rod holders. Want to mount as far up front as possible but not to far you feel like you are lunging to far forward to grab a rod when you get a bite.

Mount one on a 12/12 piece of plywood. Move it around until you find the sweet spot. Take into account the longest legged person you might have fishing with you. Nothing worse than bumping rod handles all day with your knees.
