DI vs SI up front
Curious to hear others thoughts on DI vs SI up front when fishing brush piles. Going to buy a Helix and move my 898 HDSI to bow of boat.
Is having SI best for dialing in on brush piles and DI best for seeing fish on brush.
Was trying to think of way to use 2d on TM and then easily switch back and forth between SI and DI by tilting transducer. Any managed to pull that off?

Ditto Gene. I had SI/DI 2d up front for a long time. Rarely used SI. Now have 2d/di bow and si/di/2d stern. I really have enough spots to fish, the trick is to isolate where and when. Sometimes Ima right, sometimes Ima wrong. I call it luck.

Di, on the trolling motor would be really Kool, if there were only one species of fish, hanging out around brush piles, were I fish.i use 360,2d and si for fishing. I do use the DI, but really just for play. (di makes for pretty pictures) but that all I use it for . today, all I used were 360 and si. I'm fishing so shallow now that all need is to be able to see out away from my boat.

KOSMO,I AM SURE THAT 360 WOULD BE GREAT FOR FRONT BUT FOR MOST OF US IT IS STILL IN A CLASS WE CAN NOT AFFORD,WOULD BE NICE TO LOOK AROUND TO SEE THE DIRECTION AND DISTANT TO CAST BAIT. I MADE MY UP FRONT DI ON A ROCKING ARM TO HELP ME SEE BRUSHPILE BEFORE I GET TO IT BUT IF YOU GIVE ME YOUR 360 WHEN YOU GET ANOTHER ONE I WILL DO AWAY WITH MY TILTING DUCER UP FRONT,LOL
