Default Himminbird PC - Using a track to make a route

I need help guys. I uploaded my 999's card to HBPC; HBPC shows all the track waypoints I want to make into new routes.
I can't get the waypoints from the tracks to make the routes. I tried getting the windows (waypoints and new route) tiled vertically but they will not copy and paste or drag and drop or anything else for that matter... I tried to copy and pasting in active pane plane...
I ctrl and c to highlight the points I want to move but it will not show anything copied on the clipboard to paste...
I am proficient at CATIA and I cant figure it out.

I would appreciate it Rickie. I ever haven't used them either. I am trying to make my time more efficient on a timbered lake with long runs between spots. So I thought I would give it a shot. How hard could it be right... Terry

Ok Terry ... The info is here (even tho I'm not successful with the procedure yet) ...

Transferring Waypoints from Google Earth to Humminbird PC,

I can get the trackpoints into Google Earth and create a new route (GE calls it "path" under "Add/Path") ...

I'm losing the procedure in GPSbabel somehow ...

I will get hold of LittleGazoo and see if he can pop in here to help us with this ...

Thanks for digging into it Rickie. Man its a bugger ... Last time (and only time) I used GPS management sites I got a computer virus. Thus I only use, or try to use that is, HBPC.
I tried to do it on the 999 this morning. I went to the track and followed it marking what I thought were new waypoints. After I hit mark it just said successfully saved but I don't know what as saved or where because there were no new waypoints to view.
I posted my problem on SI forum also. Terry

If you have Screenshot enabled under the Accessories tab and do not have a SD Card in the unit ... Waypoints will not be saved when you hit the "Mark" button ...

Good call Rickie. I disabled screenshot and it worked fine. I had the card out hoping HBPC would make quick work of it... Not... It took some work but I made 3 routes with 50 waypoints in each ; (apparently 50 is max). They should help keep me from running into timber and or chipping wood. Now I can delete the 5,346 waypoints saved with the track. I guess no one uses HBPC by itself to do it because you and LowePro are the only guys who responded.
Thank you for the guidance. Terry

Correct... Routes can only have 50 waypoints ...

And "Trackpoints" are different than waypoints ...tracks can contain 20,000 track points before new track points start overwriting the 1st track points ...

Sorry I'm late to the party since I've had issues posting.

I'm curious why you don't keep using saved tracks for running on lakes. I've found numerous advantages to tracks versus routes.
If you created the track while on the water with your HB, the 5,346 track-points can be greatly reduced. And you avoid the screen clutter from the route waypoints.
These tracks can be created on the water with your HB, Google Earth & Reefmaster software.

Tracks can be merged by type. I have merged tracks into 1 track each for boatruns, creeks, roadbeds, etc.
