How to stop recording recording structure data

I have an HDS 7 gen 2 touch and anytime I switch to the Chart page it is showing a wide blue trail behind the boat while I idle around looking for fish or structure. While looking for fish or structure I usually split the screen with side imaging and the chart . When I select a new waypoint ( tree or brush ) it won't show up on the chart with this wide blue trail recording. It's probably a simple fix but I can't figure it out . Thanks

Go in your menu and turn off structure mapping. It should be under "log sonar" in your Structure options menu.

Thanks for the reply , but it's not recording trails , it's recording side scan every time I come off plane to slow down or stop.

Ok after looking at what my HDS was doing again and with the advice from Lowe rider I think my HDS was Overlaying Structure on the Chart instead of recording Structure. I was going to see if my wife would pull the boat and trailer around the yard while I rode in the boat looking at the HDS to see if it was still recording or overlaying Structure but decided against it because it's gonna be at least 2 weeks before I can get to the lake .
