    Default which would be better

I have a Tracker Panfish e/w a Elite 7 HDI on the front. Has gps and I am not satisfied with DI. Thinking of putting a Raymarine Dragonfly 5 dvs on Garmin echo 551 dv on the back. Any positive or negative comments would be helpful........Thanks in advance... Happy hot fishing. They are already cooked!!!!!.......crappie1133

I thought the Panfish was a stick steering model. Were you talking about putting the transducer at the back of the DF itself? Reason I ask is I have a stick steer boat and I have an HDS7 touch up front with the transducer on transom. I also have and I-Pilot with the US2 built in transducer and I am thinking about putting an A/B switch on the front which would let me switch between transducers when I am running the OB vs the trolling motor. It is either that or buy another DF to use with the TM. I have one on it now, but it is a 3.5" screen and just to small to see well.

Searay,My boat is also a stick steer. I have the transducer mounted to a bracket that my brother made.(Ricky has a nice one that he sells) The transducer is mounted to the bracket and can be hung over the side when not under way. I also have a switch to flip from front to back when under way........Genec. My down scan is poor or quits working at times.Sometimes it works great and sometimes you can hardly see any bottom.(may get to hot and quit working) I think it is in the unit because the transducer has been replaced and my unit is out of warrenty. Since I have gps on the front unit, is the reason I was considering the 2 units with 2D and DI for the back. Since I don't troll or spider rig, I really don't need side imaging...hope I have responded to everyone's comments...Thanks.....crappie1133

You should talk to MonteSS before you consider the Dragonfly ... (He had one) ...
