    Question Question about Hotmaps

I finally broke down and bought myself a Lowrance Elite 7, I also bought the HotMaps chip. Do you guys leave the chip in the unit 24/7 or do you pull it out when not in use?

I had one before I traded it in for an HDS 7 Touchscreen. No reason to take it out, it is fine in the unit. I'd probably lose it if I took it in and out. It uses the micro chip which is really tiny. The Elite 7 had a problem with response time when using the Navionics chip, not sure about yours. Their last update to the Elite 7 was supposed to fix that issue. If I had not had the problem early on I would still have it. It was a great unit otherwise and super sharp images.
If you experience any response issues with the chip, PM me, I may can save you some headaches.

Thanks SeaRay, so far no more than I know about this thing all seems fine, only problems experienced is how to work it! As far as losing the chip I thought the same thing, if I take this thing out when not in use I'lllose it for sure!
