    Default Question on di

I currently have a hds 7 gen 2 with structure scan. I have added a transducer on the tm for obvious reasons and would like to have my di reading from the tm as well. I like having the structure scan on the back as well.

Could I add another lss ducer and have the option of switching back and fourth?

    Or buy another di unit?

    thanks

Is your 7 a touch? What exactly do you have and where?

Not a touch unit. I have the skimmer and lss ducer mounted on the transom. I put a tm ducer and extra ram base on so I just move the unit up front with me. I was looking for advice on getting di up front and wandering it could be done by adding a lss ducer on the tm. If I had 2 lss ducers could I switch between front and transom? Or do I just get a di unit for the front?

You could have two LSS transducers, one LSS box and two Ethernet cables, one to the bow and the other to the console. Just make sure you LSS box is mounted where it is easily accessible so you can switch the transducer cable every time you move the unit.

I think it would be very inconvenient, plus I don't think it would do the DF or the LSS box any good constantly plugging and unplugging them. My advice if you want DS on the front would be to add an Elite 7 DSI to the bow or better yet if you budget allows add a HDS Touch with a DSI transducer. With the touch you get the benefit of Ethernet for more data sharing than NMEA, built in Structure Scan (no box needed), plus the touch screen. I think there are still some rebates available on Lowrance units. Call Brian at BBG Marine and he can fix you up, great guy to deal with, plus his prices beat the big sporting goods stores by a bunch.

Thanks, pretty much what I was thinking. The xxxx is all so expensive, 1500 in it so far and still don't have what I want. Thats life though.
