Just switched from helix 7 chirp si g2 to helix 7 chirp msi g3
Pictures are show little disturbances/lines across that are flickering. I installed the new unit the exact same way as my g2 was installed. I am wanting to make sure this is indeed interference. I have watched and read throught the thread along with many youtube videos. Since the lines are happening during start up i am assuming it is power supply related. Went to the same spots on my under dash fuse box.
I have went in and moved cables and the lines do
Move when moving around the cable. If i unplug the transducer and go to simulation mode they are still there. Any suggestions?

If possible test your head unit on someone else’s boat to eliminate a head unit issue ...

Well i have my helix msi g3n coming tomorrow same power cord and transducer. Shiuld i put that on when it comes to see if it doing the same? Plan is g3 to the bow and g3n at the console connected to my ipilot.

I didnt plan on getting the g3 but popped up on craigslist new in the box i got it for $375. Everything was factory sealed and never been out of the box. So im hoping it is interference on the power supply and not the head unit....

You can also buy a 3A 12V DC wall-wart power supply (cheap) and test the head unit with that connected to the power cord. Good for setting up and tweaking, getting used to menus with the sim on, so you don't have to fuss with it too much on the water. Good to have one of these around. Also useful for upgrading off-the-boat.
