When I was having these issues. Turned out to be where I was getting my power from. Put in a filter and a fuse panel. Use it for electronics only and no issues.

Just mounted a Garmin Striker 7cv on my motorquide x3 digital. Unit works great till I hit the tm pedal then I get interference. Screen dulls and distortion. Wiring to ff is seperate to a fuse panel and different battery. Did not have this problem on my 2d unit I removed imagine the dv is more sensitive? Any thoughts out there?

Interference can encroach into electronics by 3 separate paths ...Or a combination of the 3 ...:

    *xducer/xducer cable
    *Power wire
    *Head unit (unlikely)

The 1st step in dealing with interference is to verify which path the interference is encroaching into the electronics ... There is no need in applying remedies to interference paths that are not the issue ...

Remove the xducer and it's cable from the TM (including any xducer cable under the deck that could be close to TM wires) ...

Hang the xducer in the water far away from the TM and test for interference on the display ...

*If the interference goes away then remedies for interference encroaching into xducer/xducer cable is the next step ...
*If the interference is still present then remedies for interference encroaching into electronics power circuit is the next step ...

I used about 9 wraps in the XDCR cable with 2 of these stacked, painted & cable tied together and it helped with a lot of my bow/TM RFI:

I also ran ALL of the wires thru one of the HB supplied rings right at the head units too.
