If you can wire electronic circuits, the information is free. Let it be known that this install voids your warranty and that I am not to be held liable for any damages since you have to do the wiring. I change nothing for my labor (about 2 days to build and test) and the cost is the cost of parts plus shipping. I do not inventory parts. Each circuit is a separate order. My only request is that a small donation be made to the Wounded Warrior project as a gesture of appreciation.

Default Is your offer still open for the PowerDrive V2 manual/wireless control switch?

Cane Pole - new member here. I have been looking for a solution to this issue with the V2 iPilot for some time. If your offer still stands, I would like to purchase the goods needed to make this interface circuit and will make a donation to Wounded Warrior Project in an amount you see appropriate. I'm not worried about voiding my warranty on my PowerDrive V2 (it expired some time ago). Please let me know what I need to do to arrange this with you.

I was on the lake when my wireless controller died; I discovered that it's failure wasn't even close to as much fun as losing a winning Lottery ticket. I also found that trying to fish while I operated the wireless controller meant that my brother did a lot more fishing than I did. My solution was to get a mini-controller and make a custom foot pedal-style housing to hold it. It works, but still isn't as functional as a real Minn Kota foot pedal.

Please let me know how I might go about covering your costs and time to make this interface and validating a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.

    Thanks,
SJ76 (<-- my boat was made in 1976. Still runs!)

Would you send me what you have on the foot control for the iPilot foot control? I want to use it as a potential jumping off point for an alternative approach.

    Thanks,

Seems like I'm not the only one falling out of love with Minn Kota. I am looking for this same solution and found it mentioned on another blog (they referenced cane pole). Seems like he just installed a single pole double throw switch to move from IPilot to foot control. Unfortunately, that's all I have found so far. If I find out anything else, I will updatde here and I hope you do the same. Thanks cane pole for your research and I would also like to see the schematics and your box.

DPDT, but yes this is what I did. Switch up and plug in the ipilot plug and I use the remote, switch down and plug in foot pedal and instantly using that. I dont thread my connectors down, that way it only takes 5-10 seconds to change back and forth.

Thank you so much for the info; it just seems to easy to be true but folks like you make it happen. Now if I can just figure out how to upgrade my powerdrive BT IPilot to IPilot link, I will have corrected all the mistakes I made by buying the Powerdrive.

Good luck on your search. I will say it only took me maybe 15-20 minutes to install mine, and that was just because I worked up the wiring myself and was really double checking everything while cutting wires. I think I could do it again in 5 minutes
