I did this install and it went great. However, I am getting very bad interference. Is anyone else having this problem? If so how did you solve it? I am at my wits end.

Cane pole, didn;t think you could cut the transducer cable???? If so, how do you splice it back into place with no interference or glitches? Ive seen them cut in two and wouldnt want to think I had to resplice./

can someone do me a favor since I dont have my terrova yet. could someone measure the diameter of the shaft for me. I want to see if I can find some shrink wrap before I get my unit.

    thanks,

I want to revive this old thread mainly because I just got a terrova. After some measurements it looks like this is an excellent soultion for me. My only question is what kind of waterproof glue has people used? And most important, how is your install holding up?

I don't see a screw to remove the motor from the shaft
there is a small hole on one side of the motor that had like some rubber in it but I don't see a screw or set screw
now what that is a slick set up I sure would like to figure it out

cajun fryer, you don't take the motor off the shaft. Just remove the head, unplug the wires, remove the screw that holds it to the shaft, slide the stop collar off and then just slide the whole thing out of the drive unit. Simple. But it is a 2 man job. Just helped a friend do it. Took him about 15 minutes. All I did was hold the motor when it was out of the drive unit. You don't even have to deploy the motor. One suggestion though. While you have it out, cut a piece of tubing that will fit over the shaft snuggly. Cut it about 1/2 inch long. Notch one side of it for the ducer cable to go through and slide it onto the shaft before you put it back in the drive unit. This little tube will prevent the ducer cable from being cut or smashed when you put the motor in the stow position.

You remove the head, not the motor to route the cable in the slot. If you need to remove the motor I've got the instructions somewhere.
