I think Terrova and Riptide ST are simular where as Riptide SP is more like the V-drive. Same screw and two wires to disconect but I had to cut power at the sonar unit in order to feed the transducer cable through the drive. The transducer end was too big to go through. My sonar was already hooked up. Had I been installing a new sonar I would have thread the cables through the drive before hooking up the power. But it looks and works fine in the garage, maybe it will stop raining long enough this weekend for a field test.

Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!

This thread has got me scrambling and doing a lot of research. I've ordered a new boat (Lund 1675 Pro Guide) with a Terrova trolling motor. I have another boat and will just be transferring over the electronics. I have a Hummingbird 997 (transom mount) and when I compare it's transducer cable with my Lowrance x510c the Lowrance cable is much larger. I don't think the Lowrance cable will work like shown in this thread as biggerjigger noted. I did find another thread where they were swapping ideas. Not sure yet what I'm going to do.

    Luvin',

Thank you so much for taking photo's and sharing this install. Just got my Terrova in last week and was wondering how to run my Xducer wire. I asked around on 4 other fishing forums and no one had a good idea! Imagine finding the solution here on my favorite fishing forum. Guess I should have checked here first :D

Now, how does one go about shortening the 60 inch shaft to a 48 inch shaft That will be my next custom modification

You can take the head off the unit and cut the hollow PVC shaft any length you want. BUT! unless it's done by a MK mechanic it will void your warranty from what I have heard. Luckily I have a deep V and the length works good for me.

Just finished putting a puck transducer on my Terrova using this thread as reference. It was a piece of cake and a real slick installation. Thanks for sharing!

That groove is not used for anything else and the lock/drive ring does not use it. Thank You Minn Kota. You knew I needed that groove for my transducer! :D TIP: Use electrical tape to hold the cable and a cable tie to hold the tape.

how much play in the ring?.... I'm thinking heat shrink tubing instead of tape.... one long tube vs spot tape wrap.

    Thumbs up

I followed the instructions in the first post and it took 45 minutes and I took my time. I had to also remove the USB2 cable while I was in there. Now I have turned my chart speed to 2 or 3 and the SI and DI images are awesome. Thanks again for the instructions. :D

    This is a great thread!

Unfortunately my Lowrance transducer is too big for the slot (someone else noted this)

Any Lowrance users using LMS or HDS? What transducer did you use that worked on the Terrova?
