I have an older Riptide/AP/CP, I think 2004, will the new I-Pilot work with this motor? I would hate to have to replace a perfectly working unit just to get the I-Pilot....but I might!

thanks jason
I troll for crappie almost all year and speed is the most critical element of trolling, down to 1/10 mph. Can the cruize control hold really slow speeds like .3-1.0 mph accurately? I have seen plenty GPS on depth finders that will not show speeds slower than .7 mph accurately. To get those slow speed reading I have a special speed sensor (Transom mount speed sensor with bushings and propeller mounted on bracket on the trolling motor- Home Made rig) sending a signal to DF. Does it recover from a gust of wind fast? Thanks for the info.
Assuming I have a basic Terrova non AP and Non US, by adding the I-pilot, does that automatically add the Auto Pilot feature as well as the GPS capabilties of the I-Pilot or do I have to upgrade to the Auto Pilot and then the I-Pilot as well to get all the benefits?

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
i-Pilot brings two autopilot functions to the trolling motor: the traditional autopilot that many motors already have, as well as its GPS-enabled advanced autopilot.
If your motor already has an autopilot, you will end up removing it when you install i-Pilot.
If you're in the market for a new troller to use with i-Pilot, save a few bucks and buy a Terrova without the autopilot, as i-Pilot will provide all of the autopilot functions you'll need.
Sweet. Thanks. Guess I'll hold off on smackin' you for now.
