I was just relaying what I was told
Unless the 6 tracks & spots are "remembered" after you shut the motor down, big deal. I rarely use more than 1 of the 3 provided on the "old" iP.
If your vision's really bad, a larger screen might be a nice feature, but I've never had trouble reading the original size screen.
If "soft" buttons mean the rubber is tougher & won't crack as fast as the original models, that's an improvement. I'm averaging a replacement rubber keypad cover every 40 trips.

To tell you how much I use all three on the older I-pilots I dont even remember how to choose whether to us A, B, or C. Anybody know how?!?
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Spot lock recall, the memory location will flash, press up or down to select, then press spot lock again or wait 3 seconds.
I've found I don't use the remote as much as alot of you guys, guess I use the AP more than the IP for the most part.
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
I always drift almost 20 or so feet before spotlock ever attempts to pull me back. I also do not like that my PDV2 has to only use the remote. I want/need the foot control for some applications. Like tying a jig or unhooking a fish. Anything that requires 2 hands. I am really not too happy with this ipilot. It seems that it is more geared toward bass fisherman working long bank runs and people who do ALOT of trolling. SPOTLOCK does not work as good as advertised. It should keep you on the spot. Not pull you back and shut off. If I can put my motor on speed 1 and stay in spot with the wind, why can't the ipilot do the same thing? 20 foot drifts before ipilot decides to pull me back is not what was advertised. 5 foot radius which I do not get is what I was advertised. I am thinking about going back to my old foot controlled MotorGuide.
I fear no fish
Curious, any way we could swap in a better gps receiver?
hey all... just got a terrova ipilot and was wondering..... because i havent gotten on the water with it yet.... can you set the autopilot speed, or advanced autopilot speed by gps speed or just the motor speed.
thanx!
the IP shows mph based on the gps feature, but you set the desired speed (mph) by rotating/adjusting the speed of the prop via the adjustable knob on the foot control or by the IP remote. Once you get on the water, you'll see, the faster the prop speed the higher the mph indicated on the IP. You will have alot more control over you speed with the variable function on the Terrova.

thanx jimp! i figured i could set the speed by the speed of the prop, but just to clarify, i cant set the speed on a track or auto pilot by the gps speed itsself, correct? say for instance if i'm on a track that turns me into the wind, if the prop speed is constant my boat speed will slow due to the wind. if one could set the gps speed, the motor would adjust the prop speed to compensate.
does that make sense? i'm away from my manual right now and just curious
