I guess I don't follow, so Say I use all 3 of those anchors at one lake............. I cant use it anywhere else. You would have thought it would have been simple for minnkota to have a way to delete a waypoint that is stored. Ill be quite upset if this is the case. That would be worthless to me.

Spot lock locations and recorded tracks are "deleted" by being overwritten by new locations or tracks.

There is no protection for the spots or tracks. If you spot lock and use memory location "A", and then later use "A" to store a new spot lock spot, then the first spot stored in "A" is history. The same applies to recorded tracks.

I see what your saying now, so when it asks you where you want to store it you have to pick between a,b, or c correct?

    That's exactly correct.

When you first press Spot Lock, you'll see a letter flashing. That letter corresponds to a memory location. You can change the letter/memory location using the +/- keys, or you can just wait a couple seconds, after which time the unit will default to the memory location that was originally identified. After you have selected a memory location, press spot lock again to write the spot to that memory location, and you're good to go.

In other words, if you press spot lock once and do nothing else, the spot gets written to the initial memory location that comes up. If you want to change the memory location, you must do so manually and then press spot lock again.

I don't store 3 spots...I just keep recycling spots into one memory location. When I want to use spot lock, I press the button twice in rapid succession to get locked onto the spot asap, without waiting for the unit to write the spot to the default memory location.

    Hope that helps!

I am somewhat technical inclined so heres my problem. Want the I-pilot in terrova and the 12v 55lb would do me just fine. How big of a project is it to install the i-pilot head on the motor ?

Please don't say its a 5 minute job. Everytime in my 62 years someone has said that its turned into a nightmare.

Here's the complete Terrova installation procedure, with photos.

Judge for yourself, but if it takes more than 5 minutes, I'd be shocked!

I'm almost 64, and pretty challenged with electronics, and it is a five minute job.

OK, it took me more then 5 minutes because I had a hard time getting the protective cover off the plug inside the terrova. Reading the book and getting the plug cover off both took longer than the install.

New boat, new trolling motor, new iPilot, new FF and nothing but ice and snow. I have cabin fever bad

Default Love my new Terrova Ipilot.

Got my new terrova 80 Ipilot in on wed and in 2 1/2 hours I had the old auto- pilot trolling motor off and the new one on my old Ranger 692. I took it out to the lake this afternoon for a little test run before the ice storm hits. It was a little windy and the spot lock, cruise control, auto pilot and advanced autopilot work better than I thought it would in the windy conditions. I did not get to try the track recording. I even like the heel/toe foot control alot better than the old foot control on the old power drive. The steering is faster and smoother too. I can't wait until the weather breaks and I can start trolling for some slabs.
