    Default Color combinations

Color combinations doesn’t really matter to the fish or maybe I should say Crappie what color combination that you use it seems like it doesn’t really matter to them if they are really hitting I am not a favorite of chartreuse most the time that we are using plastic I like a pearl white or different shades of brown motor oil and watermelon with red glitter and of course I like red and white green and white acid rain and different colors with purple eyes but it may make a difference if the water is clear of course the water down here in Texas is milky the other color I like is white I hate to say this with the chartreuse tip on the tail just like to see what your guises opinion about this is. I do know for a fact the more prettier or brilliant you make them the fisherman like them so maybe I am catching fisherman. Do any of you guys use UV on your plastics does it make a difference.

They tell me color doesn’t matter, and unpainted heads are best, but I have noticed differently. I am using three different colors- head, body and tail. I like white, green, pink and purple body colors. All with that Yum Yum yellow tail.

There are also different shapes, sizes, profiles and actions associated with these types of discussions. Then of course different lakes, different techniques, different styles. Well it all forms this conglomeration of information so large that comprehension is difficult. I have gathered my bestest wisdom via trail and error. Well you have gotten together a few orders for me, and I am kind of all over the place with that stuff, but soon hope to get it all sorted to just a few special baits. You make some very interesting baits and your colors are bright and welcoming. So I wanted to reply.

I speak a little diddy as I reel them in. “Welcome…….Welcome to Fantasy Island.” I would like to listen to them talk when they are in the live well, but so far no luck with that. Maybe get their opinion on some things. We can all be quite assured that whatever would be revealed would likely change the next day anyways. LOL These fish are certainly as fickle as a cat.

I have wondered why bait makers all seem to make the same thing. Paddle tail baits for example. The second color always starts at the joint where body meets tail. Starting second color half way down the tail doesn’t seem to be much of an option, or a body where there is just a splash of a different color near the head. Always seems the body is one color and the tail is all one color. I don’t make my own plastics so it probably has to do with how things get done. I am still making way too jig heads of different designs, sizes, styles, profiles and of course- colors. I am afraid to get started making plastics for fear of what I may become. Thousands in molds and supplies when I can just buy what I really want from you.
Maybe they will bite this one……

For many years I use green and white that’s all I ever used when they first come out with the tubes in before that all we had is marabou the old days were funny and hard sometimes because the fish did not like Marabou that well sometimes so we had to use cut bait add to the Marabou it’s over mini mini years I’ve seen progress seems like sometimes the old ways were better a lot more fun but now that Technology has taken over with all the fancy stuff they have on the market today mainly to catch fishermen but if there was only one color there to pick it would be Pearl white and maybe black .

Yeah I’ve said it for years color doesn’t matter or at least majority of the time. Been told that doesn’t make sense coming from a person that makes baits. When they’re not active and being picky maybe one color might work better than the other color or one style better than the other. I’m constantly changing colors and can say I catch no more fish than I did years ago on colors I was using then. I tell myself I need to just slim my lineup down to a handful of colors but my creative nature won’t let me. I haven’t poured a plastic now in 2 years and been doing hand ties. Thinking I need to start again

Years pasts I used nothing but bright colors. The last two years I started using less bright colors and grey which I never did in the past. Just bought some brown colored material and going to tie some stuff up with that.

Bob, one thing about catching fishermen is that if the bait/color impresses them there is a better chance they will fish it more, and catch more fish.

Some days they want that one color. Other days they will hit almost anything put in front of them

I can honestly say I have caught as many fish as just about anyone and all the areas I have ever fished color has mattered 95% of the time. With that being said Bob you made me some jigs a while back that I want to buy some more of. I whacked them yesterday on it and it was the only color consistently working. I will mail one to you when I get a chance so you can copy it.
