Bob, when I first saw the photo without reading anything about the eye idea, I thought - tail tab. That by itself would be a new and unique tail action that would attract attention and maybe put out some extra vibration as it wags all over the place. No need for any difference in color from the body or a dot IMO.
Some of my best discoveries have been by accident resulting in shape & action combinations I would have never imagined.
I haven’t had a chance to throw those out yet and I wanted to make some more with different colors I’m dying to find out what they will be like in Texas we will be looking out quite a few different places I will be looking out for the major Lakes in Texas Toledo Sam reborn lake Livingston .
You used to be at Toledo Bend
When you make more Bob, make some of same color front-to-tail. Tail contrast is at times a good thing but most times I've found lure action, color contrast overall to surroundings and the lure's shape activate the strike. Fish don't know an eye from a broomstick but do detect lure contrasts of any kind. Bet it would do well under an overhead spinner. (Beetle)
