I agree. I really enjoy viewing the baits that people are making and the color combinations, etc.

So I would encourage people to post photos of baits, you may think they are not interesting, but I, for one, think otherwise!

I would post more often, but I am just making lures for myself and a few friends now. Seems like the Crappies like the SOS (Same Old Stuff) that I have been making. Nothing new except adding Mylar foil to my handcrafted pool noodle slip floats as an added flash attractant. I found some at a flea market that is silver flash foil on one side and black flash foil on the other. It is tough and durable Bob. It reflects light extremely well and acts as a beacon to attract the fish with the alternating reflection and refraction of light rays. The angle of incident will equal the angle of reflection with the two differing sides of the Mylar foil. Shoot me a PM if you want some to play with. Here is a photo of my experiment and the Mylar foil. Notice the fish that was attracted to the flash from the foil. Six inches below the foil will be the lure for them to eat.

This is the SOS (Same Old Stuff) I was referring to. A 1.5" minnow and some slab sauce will seal the deal.

A lot of the members are in hunting mode,, so it isn't surprising that posts are down, all over the site. It will get better eventually.

I need to pour some crappie baits for the spring, but I have been pouring a lot of 2.75" and 3.3" swim baits for walleye/sauger fishing currently. Also, the wife is getting me side tracked from bait making with the holidays coming up.

Many have moved on to the Facebook Crappie Groups. We have been swamped at G-Daddy Baits since the Crappie Expo in Branson. My son finished 6th out of 112 teams using G-Daddy Baits. He owns River Bottom Boys Guide Service LLC out of Van Alstyne TX. I was sponsoring on crappie.com for several years. I stopped after detailed studies on where sales were coming from we completed. As a result I moved on to Facebook. Business jumped as a result. I have discovered that there is a foreign company that is blantly copying other manufacturers propriitory bait molds. One of their latest victims is Beaver Bottom Baits. No ethics at all. My guess is they are getting their hands on a bait style from the USA then 3D printing it doing measurements and cutting molds calling them "Custom". I call it custom copying or plagiarism . So the next time you have a mold made I would suggest having a unique identifying symbol cut to show on top or bottom of the baits to make it more difficult to copy. Oh, God healed me from Stage 4 Non Small Cell Lung Cancer using a protocol found in Home | Get Busy Living. I have been All Clear 17 months in 2 days. Prayers answered! Merry Christmas!
