Default Nice thing about lure colors are the variety - even clear lures

I proved to myself last year that clear soft plastics catch as many fish of all species as those of different hues. These were poured yesterday and I guarantee they will catch fish even in less than clear water. The only one dyed chartreuse is the mini-stick on the right up one from the bottom.

Note the color captured within each due to a change in light waves as well as reflected light off each surface contour.

As long fish feel a lure's action and visually take note of the lure's form and size, lure's that have the right action - with angler input - can't fail to get struck. In fact, each has an action that is unique but strike provoking when rigged on a light jig head with the right size hook. Most can be worked in more than one way - a few even under a float - and in most depths from near the surface down to 8'.

Can't wait to use them this spring !

I'd say I completely agree with that well summarized synopsis. I like that color too.

Some examples where clear plastic did well:

My first experience catching fish on clear plastic was bass striking my clear Zara Spook surface plug. Turned out it caught more fish than colored patterns.

I like clear with some very fine silver glitter in it.

    Me too !
I use a soft plastic glue to add some fine glitter flakes to the lure's surface. Subtle yet detected and maybe reactive.

Clear with black and silver flake (salt and pepper) has always been a fantastic color for me. What's really amazing is catching bream on plastics that long. I can't even catch 'em on a 1.75".

You are all spot on with the clear plastic and the additon of flake colors! My personal favorite is clear with holo silver flake in .08 size - the fish love that combo.

I discovered something new last week: a grub with a prong sticking out:

Even if the prong wasn't colored using Spike-It, I believe it will catch fish for reasons I can only speculate. One that came to mind is that lures displace water while in motion and focuses a fish's attention on the visual qualities a lure displays such as bumps, ridges and in this case a prong.
It looks nor moves like anything but instead is in contrast to anything fish will experience in their lifetime.
I'll get back to you how well they work when I fish them this spring along with these:
