Two baits in one. Fast or slow fall.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along

Dang Bob - I never heat plastic to over 300 degrees but can see how injecting that skirt might be a problem at a lower temperature !

Bob, I'm not big on skirted grubs though I know they are excellent for most bites. The higher the temperature I've found yellows light, translucent or clear colors faster which I prefer and I'm a stickler for true color especially when using fine glitter - and glitter in general - will fade faster at over 300 degree on the reheat. I don't sell lures so restocking or making lures in a large quantity for quick sales is not an issue.

Are you still making a spoon baits in your case I don't think you would even have to have it at 300° knowing what you do it's whatever you get comfortable with.

I stopped using a spoon as a mold years ago though I still use a teaspoon (lure on the top) or tablespoon (one on the bottom) for topwater bass baits.

When the time is right for surface lures in weeds, bass clobber them! I do use silicone strands for the rear skirt which sways with every waddle and floating plastic.

For spoon minnows, I only needed a glossy floor tile held at angle pouring a wide area, cutting the minnow shape (box cutter blade at left) and dip the body three times. A lure I can always depend on regardless of season.
    examples:

But as you well know they sell aluminum molds that do the same thing far faster and in different shapes and sizes depending on the mold:

Plus, I can always cut off the thin tail and attach it to a thin flat body using a candle flame. Thin flat bodies and tails used with very slow retrieves provide the action I prefer and especially under a float.
