Most popular brand names are Pico, Bobby Garland, Southern Pro, and Charlie Brewer
Most popular bait styles are, stinger type baits , curl tails, and sliders

Default For one pole casting/dock shooting .....

Used to use a lot of the Panfish Assassin Tiny Shad, and CrappiePro solid body Tubes. Then I switched to Slabanator Shad in place of the Assassin Tiny Shad, and Mr Crappie Thunder Tubes in place of the CrappiePro tubes.

I have purchased several different Bobby Garland baits, but don't use them as much as I do the Slabanator Shad & Booty Shaker & Hot Rod & Mini Rod bodies.

I use a lot of Road Runners and will start mixing in the Jelly Spin variations that I ordered from Bob's Jigs

For me it is a stinger tail bait fished on a 1/16th Road Runner with some slab sauce on it. U use dental floss and some Loctite super glue to secure the soft plastic because Richard Gene has shown in his videos how the lure does not change position or come off. I like the basic "Slab sauce" but I prefer to use the "G" sauce. Just my opinion. As for lure makers, I make my own and I buy exclusively from Snake River. He's very reliable and his lures inspire me. The crappie down here love stinger tails.

The southern pros are terrible as far as plastic strength, they are 2-3 fish baits so I don't use them too much unless I catch them on sale for $1.

Other than that, I'm still old school a bit.. I'll toss a tube around quite a bit. Oh and I use strike king jokers a bit when the fish are eating big baits.

I haven't really gotten into using custom crappie plastics yet, probably will try some this year. I used to make my own years ago but there wasn't hardly anything out there for crappie molds other than small grubs and the twitchy minnow. I caught A LOT of fish on the 1.75 twitchy minnow years ago.
You need to try some of snake rivers baits. Like slabprowler said they are soft and durable. And bob is so easy to work with. You pick a bait and give him a color combo and he will figure it out for you. Great service also.

People I know in OK are either harping about a tough plastic that they can use all day or pushing soft bait companies that don’t last for crap. All I want is a hard body with a medium tail. Hard body allows plastic to stay on keeper all day if needed and medium tail gives you a happy medium without being bitten off. I’m either dipping or cast and dragging. I don’t have time for putting on a new plastic constantly due to being too soft nor do I have time for dental floss and/or superglue while fishing to include tails bitten off. Bottom line I want a plastic that I don’t have to change and has tail action.

Bait style and/or colors? I found it really doesn’t matter. People will swear by it but ok I guess. What ever catches the fisherman’s eyes as crappie aren’t that picky. But I'm also not in the old school belief that you need an ultra light rod with the drag set because you are using a 4lb test line. I like to set the hook and swing in the boat. No need for drag, net or limp rods.

Stinger style here in Ohio, I make most of my own also. Snake River has some of the best I have seen and that is many. Bob will hook you up with what ever you need. He also has a killer swim bait or twister tail style and colors are great.
