I would think it would work but I deftly would put a sealer on it after it dried . I have not made any molds myself out of that material . I believe crappie seeker has in maybe he would comment if he gets a chance.
Would pre-mixed plaster patch work for mold making ??? they sell a tub of it @ wal-mart and wasn't sure if it would work.

I used that ,also plaster of paris...you get a lot of shrinkage as they dry out ..I've had better luck with Bondo body filler......
is the bondo bought from auto parts store. We used something similar to this when we use to glass in hunting rifles . It was a two-part mixture sets up very fast but definitely gets hard as a rock.Originally Posted by [email protected]

I get mine at Wallyworld....same product..better price..once you mix it , you've only got a minute or two to work with..
I have used plaster and bondo and resin. I did not like my experiences with any of them. I probably had better results from the oomoo resin than the plaster and bondo. You can make molds out of all of those. I made a few molds that actually made some ok baits. It is just very time consuming and you have to do a lot of trimming and with the small cavities for panfish baits, it just does not work all that great. However this is a matter of opinion and you may do well with it. I myself did not prefer it and only had limited results. Someone here use to make some pretty nice baits out of the bondo and had pictures of them. I do not remember the name right off but you might could look through some old posts. His baits looked pretty darn good.
