    Default Plastic advice?

Looking for info on what plastic to buy. I'm looking for one that will allow movement somewhat soft but also hold up to a couple of fish . May have to cut back to one fish and just shoot for the the rest.
These are going to be big baits for Striper's not crappie. So they need to be tough.
Plan on ordering stuff soon to get started. Still working on my molds. But What plastic to shoot for is a hard choice.
Thanks in advance in for any help.
    Pete

if you want them to hold up, do not buy the soft plastic, I do not know much about it but I would think the medium would work best for you. I bought the soft and I think it is a little too soft. I will go with the medium next time

Well I like the salt water from lure craft. it is TUFFFFFFFFFFF and still moves good. but the med. is great as well and for what it cost to make your own baits the med is tuff anuff and moves great. I only use lure craft products. but some others might like thier plastic better

I have never tried lurecraft so I cannot say anything about it. I use Calhouns and it works pretty good. I have nothing to compare it too because it is all I have used. Some people have told me my baits were great and that the colors and bait styles caught fish really well, however they did not hold up too good on some of them. So next time I will do the medium and this should fix them being too soft.

Thanks everyone will check out both and get some ordered. Hoping to be able to start ordering it in at least 5 gallons at a time or more if this works.

I'm hoping that you'll post your plastics when you get ready to shoot some. How big of Bates are the going to be I would assume fishing for stripers they'd have to be pretty good size.

snake, the plastic i got is from bears, but it is calhouns brand. It is probably the most used brand in the industry up to this point. He just re bottles it. I forgot to mention that I tried some m-f plastic too and it is good as well. Both of them seem ideally the same to me. I will order some tougher plastic next time though.

Baer is no longer ordering from Calhoun he is getting his stuff out of Washington state. I do not know but I'm pretty sure that I have his newer stuff when I first bought it from him and I believe it's from Washington so far no problems I haven't used any from the drum yet. We will find out when I get back to working out there in the shop.

I think he still may have some of calhouns too. Like you said though, he has a new formula that is suppose to be even better. However on the remelt, I could not tell much difference. I hear it is great stuff though.
