    Default Beck's Pond 10/16/12

Took the boat out today on Beck's.First time I've fished there from a boat in years! Not a lot of structure on the bottom, also a ton of silt on the bottom.Did manage to catch 5 bluegills,3 crappie, and a white perch all jigging.

Crappie Man nice to see a report from you again. Not sure if you have been to the crappie hole in Christina but a few trees have fallen and really blocked a lot of the river.I am going fishing tomorrow with my Dad.He is 83 years old and I really enjoy taking him out even though he drives me absolutely crazy.Gonna be hitting a small stream in Kent County, MD that feeds into The Chester river. The stream has been dug out to allow them to pump water to a nearby farm field.Perfect spot for my Dad cause we can literally drive right up to where we will be fishing.I have been getting a few small crappie from the golf course pond recently.Last time I went got them on a #2 Mepps Algia spinner. That would be my hands down all time favorite lure.Plan on stopping @ Captain Bones tomorrow though and picking up a couple dozen minnows for the trip to MD.

Had an awesome day today.I started out throwing a Mepps spinner since it was already tied on.Must have landed over 6 nice bass,4 smaller pickerel and some small crappies on them.Lost one when the snap on the swivel came unhooked and swam off with the bass.Think I am done with swivels.I switched over to a crappie magnet tipped with a minnow and caught a mess of smaller crappies and a few more bass.My Dad stuck with the minnow crappie jig combo and pulled in some nice bass,a few decent crappie and a pickerel also.My Dad would have to preferred all crappie but it's hard to complain when your catching nice size bass.Really nice to be able to still go out with him and even better when we have a day like we did today.
