    Great read and thanks for sharing the knowledge. One question- What is that you're using to connect your main line to your jig? Looks like a snap of some sort? I like how small it is.

    I do not use this particular brand. I mainly use Mustad's "Snap Hooks" as offered at Netcraft.com in the size #2:

    Mustad Snap Hooks. Easily change flies without tying

    I have also recently started getting these from Amazon.com:

    They are a nice quality snap, but from China. I know....it's un-American.....but it certainly is cost effective.

    You guy's drifting and catching them down 2', how deep is the water. I only do shore line with weed's growing out of the water and generally anchor in about 10' of water. You guy's don't drift in deep water and catch them down 2' do you? That would be interesting. Where I fish there always seem's to be wind sooner of later. I've never considered getting into deeper water.
