Pretty new to this and prior attempts at small piles have not worked. There are two of the larger buckets and several of the smaller. Was thinking of centering two piles with the larger then surround with the smaller. Or, just one large one. Thoughts? Oh, and these will be placed in man made clearish reservoirs near standing timber with max depth of about 18'.

I would make the 2 piles at different places because it's good to have 2 different places to fish. Just in case someone else is fishing one of the piles when you get to the lake you will have the other one to fish. Fish habitat "build it and they will come".
Be safe and good luck fishing

Thanks. This lake already has some, but they are aging and I just want as many options as possible, but do not want to put so little down that nothing uses it.

Can always add to the ones that are aging. Especially if they are known to hold fish.

Make 2 spots you can add to them later if you wish . Try tree limbs or wood stakes as switch cane may not last real long .

2 large with some smalls around them would be good stuff if dropped in the right location , but to be sure folks will find it when it reaches housing complex proportions , so dont go and get upset when you hit the water and someone is sitting on it , just saying
might be better to drop them one at a time right beside standing timber in areas that hold fish often , that way you have locations that are numerous rather than just one large one

I decided on just one. Found a great drop off a point near a timber line. Will check on it Sunday.
