Tie a tree to it and I guarantee it will work!
Any of you guys ever use steel for structure in a lake? I have a limitless supply of scrap steel. Much of it is auger, from 6"-9" in diameter.
It ain't gonna float off and it would be there "forever." I'm gonna try some but just wondered if anyone had tried it before. I know they use lots of it to make reefs in the Gulf.
Most places it is not legal . If not placed deep could be bad news for boats

Steel of any kind should never for any reason be used on any public lake.
Too much risk for boat hull and motor damage for someone that doesn’t know it’s there.
I remove it every time I see it

No reason that it should not hold fish. But as stated it is illegal in most lakes

I was with my brother in a jon boat and got hung up on a steel stake by a duck brind and poked a hole in his boat. Deep water only and don't get caught in Iowa cause it is expensive plus has to be removed from said body of water. Good structure though I'm sure.
I can remember some old timers taking old boats and filling them with anything heavy draging them out then shooting holes in the bottom to sink em. Get oneself in a lot of trouble doing that now
