    Default Needing stakes

I'm wanting to put out several stake beds in the lake I fish and am having a hard time finding the stakes. I need approx. 100-150 stakes that are approx. 2 inches by two inches by approx.8 ft long. I have already checked sawmills, cabinet makers, furniture makers, pallet makers, lumber yards, etc. All I can find are stakes that are 4 to 5 ft long. I'm putting them out in deep water so I really need them to be at least 8 ft long. I'm willing to drive 100 miles or so from Memphis, TN and willing to pay for them.
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

Small portable sawmills maybe? The slabs should make some decent stakes

Spindle, if you were closer to me ,( South Carolina) you could have ALL the bamboo you can haul free. I have a patch that's taking over.

What you call deep ? We use 4 to 6' stakes in 8 to 12' water and do good .

Watch Facebook market place there is someone in the Blytheville area all the time selling 2x3x8 lumber out of trailer houses. Worse come to worse you could take a table saw and trim off that extra inch.

We have western red cedar in Oklahoma. A lot of folks sink the whole cedar tree, but I started removing the limbs from the larger trees to use as stakes in stake beds. Cut the limb off the trunk and cut the smaller branches off the main limb.

They're usually 6-8 feet long and approx. 2" diameter. It's a little work, but the limbs make great stakes. They usually have a bend in them that helps to spread them out if the bucket. Maybe an option for you if you can't find any.

If you find a Hardwood or Cedar mill that cuts lumber , most will give or sell cheap the scraps from board edger . Helps to meet owners of small operations invite fishing or give them fish . Trim mill locally here that has srapes . Several small mills that cut Cedar or Hardwood . The dimensions of stakes can be anything that will fit a driver and ones too wide can be ripped on a table saw .
