I would like to see pictures of this, do you have to use the copper pipe . I think this would be easy to transport and not leave a big mess in your boat.
Mother nature is relentless in destroying all the plastic ties and holes in sandbags, and before long, your weight is gone. I too have tried to think of a weight and tie down systen that will last for at least a couple years. Still thinking !!!!

I use the same sandbags they use to control flooding. They are made of woven polypropylene and will last nearly for ever. I get them for cheap.

This is bamboo I put out in January. I used 1 cinderblock on mine. I'm pretty happy with it and can't wait for some summer crappie to pile up on it.
