    Default Crappie trees

I am putting in some pvc trees and would like the input of the cdc members . Should i put more branchs in the white pvc ( trunk ) and put one per bucket and put trunk in middle of the bucket with quick crete or go with the 2 ( trunks ) per bucket with quick Crete and should i fill bucket or would half bucket be enough to hold down ? I like the idea of one trunk per bucket. That would give more chance of retrieving lure if hung as well. Think half bucket would hold unless strong current. Could maybe add rocks to top off. Might want side braces to keep standing upright. Looks good! Good job.

Better get a good GPS reading as the PVC is some what hard to see on sonar.
Be safe and good luck fishing

. Side imaging shows shadows better than actual image of PVC

I would do both and see which one works best IMHO. But IMO the two trunk one would SEEM to be more productive with more shade and areas for them to hide. With jigs think they would slide out easy enough.

I’d go with #2 if I had a choice. Personally I found it so much easier and cheaper to sink a branch tied with copper wire/zip tie to a cinder block or rip rap rock.

Not the way we do it , free buckets and busted sacks of Quickcrete for about a buck .

Look at your trees...with you knowledge of Crappie, how many will each hold???
Build cover for the fish, not for the fishermen....if you get your jig close to the cover they will come out to get it, you don't have to drop it in the middle of it...so don't make it to get lures back!
Crappie cover should mimic their Natural preference....make it dense, with as many large vertical posts as possible. Crappie use cover as protection, for rest, ambush points, and feeding stations.
When I build cover, I visualize how many 12 inch Crappie that I can HIDE in it!
I have areas with just stacked Milk-crates that hold hundreds of fish. Everyone has Milk-crates they want to get rid of...stack 3 or 4 together with plastic tie straps, big rock in the bottom. drop 15 or 20 in a tight group, and you have a tight stump field.
Bakeries/etc., will give away 5 gal buckets that sugar etc comes in....local concrete makers, give away broken blocks, bricks, etc. Lowes/etc., will sell broken 'crete bags, busted PVC etc....use the free stuff and build BIG!!!
