You better make sure you glue the pipes inside the ball because the will come out of the ball because of contracting and expanding over time. This is not hearsay because I know first hand.

Make a round ball of concrete. Buy 1/2 or 3/4 PVC couplings. Insert the couplings into the concrete. ( Put a piece of duct tape on the inserted end)
Let the ball harden up then glue in your pipe and there you have it?
PVC fittings are really cheap and the pipe isn't that much more either.

Man I wish it wasn't against the law to put them out around here.

    IDEA>>>
couldn't you just take a piece of 6"-10" PVC Pipe...cut it into 8-12" lengths...put it in a vice and drill appropriate size holes to fith your PVC "arms" then follow the initial steps? Basically, you would have made your own Porcupine for LITTLE TO NO money and you would have A LOT. Just my own idea...what do you think? I haven't made any condo yet by the way.

If you filled the the 6-10 inch with concrete after you put your arms in it. It would anchor it and hold the arms in it to! Good idea.
