    Default PVC Crappie Condo

I make my structure with electrical pvc. Cut about 18-20 inches off the end with the flare. I drill a hole in the straight end and put a nail thru it so it won't come out of the quick crete. Put about 10 per bucket. Also cut a pvc pipe into 12 inch sections for leg supports and insert in the bucket. Fill the bucket with quick crete and space and angle the ends around to get the effect you want. Fill the bucket with water and let the mix harden. With the remaining ends of pvc, cap them at one end and drill a hole about 16-18 inches from the cap and 4-5 inches from the other end. When you sink the condo this will allow water to fill the pvc with a air pocket at the top to help keep it upright. Assemble them at the lake. Takes about 3-5 minutes to assemble and sink.

Wow! Nice fish structure.I like the idea of the easy assembly at lake later. Let us know how well they work holding fish and if your sonar shows them better with the air pockets that helps hold them up. "Fish habitat, build it and they will come".

Had them out for about a year now. I sunk them in 20-25 ft of water. When the sun gets up and the fish go deeper, I can go to them and keep catching them. Put out 16 of them. Great little honey hole.

I like how you used the pvc on the bottom of the bucket. I'm sure that helped with stability. Made a few that were very similar myself, but a couple of them toppled over and could never locate them on the sonar! Oops.

do you mix your quick Crete and then pour it in the bucket? sounded like you poured in the dry Crete, put in the pic, then put in water. if you do the latter, how do you mic it together, or does it just mix itself ok?

I pour it in the bucket dry. Then after I get everything situated like I want it, I fill the bucket with water. Let it set for a day or so and your ready to go.

Don't have any pics of fish on them, but you can get on the Ga. forum and check out my posts. A lot of the fish, not all, in those pics come off those structures.
