I've made about 20 of them like that but I can't see them on my down scan or side imaging graph. I just have to know where they are. I usually spot them by seeing fish on them but I've yet to catch a crappie off of them. I may have put them in the wrong area of the lake. I will admit that they are much easier to put together in the boat at the place that you're going to sink them then trying to put them together and haul them out there. You can carry quite a few at one time doing it this way.

That's funny you say you can't see them on your DI or SI. I can see mine one day and then the next day I can't. Don't know if it is the water temp, clarity, or what, but I know where they are at. I got way point over each one. As far as catching fish off them, I would say at least 70% of my fish are caught off them on the lakes where I have them. I do a lot of trolling and I move right thru them with no hang ups.

I love this idea. I may try it with the same amount of pvc you used in the photos but add in a few extra short pieces of pvc in the bucket and mix in a few big stalks of bamboo.

Bamboo is great. The only reason I don't use bamboo is when trolling thru it I would get hung up. I can run my jigs as deep as I want thru them and never get hung up. Also, I think when the jigs bump off the PVC, it triggers strikes.

those look great. would 2 x4's be good for building condo's? most construction sites will give you scrap lumber if you ask them.

As long as it is untreated...most treated wood contains arsenic or other poisons.
On Sharpshooters thread about 8 buckets, I show a pic of some oak 2x4's that I used....and I got all of my oak from construction site scrap areas.

Right. 10-11 ft. tall. I sink mine in 20-25ft of water.

Default In my state of Indiana

you have to buy a permit to put these in the lakes. $100 You also have to put them in a certain depth of water. I forget for sure but I believe 20 to 25 ft. Unless the laws have changed.
