    Default Bamboo buckets

Has anyone had issues with them turning over once sunk? I built 3 and they would not stay up right on land...I used one 80# sack per bucket...

That's why you use the rebar to brace the bucket up on land it won't with the wait once you sink them they will sit right

I was hoping that boat activity didn't act upon it like wind does on land. I just put the three out today. I have enough cement and buckets to build 10 but got scared they may blow over with slight current under water.

I didn't use buckets, but I used pretty stiff cardboard boxes and I'm here to tell you those things sink perfectly upright. Fricken bamboo acts like a sail on the way down. I wouldn't worry about them tipping over unless you filled the buckets with concrete to the very top. Even if they do though, the bamboo will float upright forever so it will still work IMO. Here are the piles I sank.

They will fall over, after about 4 or 5 months that cane will crack open in every joint, the air will leak out, then wave action or some one trolling will hang it and turn it over, Got proof, I pulled one of mine back out after 6 months, the cane was cracked at every joint. I found a fix though, put one straight up the middle, tie a 1 gal jug to it about 3/4 of the way up, that jug will have leverage on the one straight up and keep it up right, the only thing is, the ones out to the side will break over eventually, mine have been lasting about 3 years, then I have to rebuild them. Be there , done that, I've got close to 100 out right now.

Admittedly, nothing lasts forever except cement, brick, PVC and osage orange...
