Default Official Release from our Secretary

    Ladies & Gentlemen,

Attached are the results of last Saturdays CRCC Tournamentheld on Lake Neely Henry. We could not have asked for better weather other thanthe stronger than anticipated breeze during the morning hours but thateventually laid down. It appears that our members are being good stewards ofthe club as we had a season high (16) boats participating, (5) new membersjoin, and (2) new guests fish with the CRCC. As of Saturday, we are now (57)members strong for 2018. Allen Payne was our TD for Neely Henry and ran asmooth and seamless operation at the scales. I would say that his better halfwas the silent partner that made it all come together as the recording officer.

Lets now dispose of the pleasantries and get down to whattranspired. As we all know Mr. C and Mike Ward started the year strong and helda commanding lead through mid-season, but as we also know, there are a lot ofgood fishermen & women in this club and they made a statement Saturday. Dueto the hot conditions and low weights at the previous Logan Martin Tournament(9/15/18), several teams who managed to weigh fish there surpassed/closed thegap Saturday.

The team to beat on Saturday was the duo of Gary and BarbaraKendrick. Bringing in a total weight of 10.31 lbs., they were able to jump overMr. C & Mike Ward and take the points lead with one tournament to go. Notto be left out of the race, the team of Roger & Darla Absher brought in avery respectable weight of 7.24 lbs. to close the gap on Mr. C and Mike to just1.35 lbs. This should set up an exciting finish to the season as any of thesethree teams could walk away as the 2018 CRCC Champions. We all know that Weissis Mr. C & Mikes home lake but Weiss can be a cruel mistress. Just a slightpuff of wind and it’s like trying to fish in the Gulf of Mexico. Let’s hopethat we have Chamber of Commerce weather and that Weiss is a slugfest.

Not to leave out the others that finished in the Top 5 forSaturday, here is a listing of the finishing order as well as “New Members”names and weights:

1st Gary and Barbara Kendrick 10.31 lbs.
2nd Phil Trapp & Joe Hayes 9.43 lbs.
    3rd Allen & Bryan Payne 7.73 lbs.
    4th Roger & Darla Absher 7.24 lbs.
    5th Steve Buckley & Greg Barber 6.83lbs.
Big Fish Paul Whorton 1.79 lbs.

    New Members/Guests:

Evan Bearden & Zak Smith 6.32 lbs. for a close 6thplace finish. Congrats and welcome to the CRCC!!!
James Causey with member John Baker 5.84 lbs. Welcome James.
Anthony Lee & Alan Stephenson 2.69 lbs. Welcomegentlemen.

Dale & Ronnye Kendrick 2.25 lbs. Not guests to us but tothe CRCC, they have recently moved from Memphis and located waterfront to NeelyHenry. Watch out for this duo in tournaments to come as this is Gary Kendrick’sbrother and S.I.L and very good at their craft.

Our last regular season tournament (SHOOT OUT) will be heldat the Crappie Capitol of the World, Weiss Lake on Saturday October 27th.Official registration and weigh-in point will be held at Graves Three RiversLanding (Hwy 9 & County Rd. 63) in Cedar Bluff, AL. Phil Trapp (706)331-0764 will be our Tournament Director. Onsite registration will be from 5:30– 6:00 AM Central. Fishing starts at 6:30 and ends at 2:00 PM Central. Teamsmust be in the weigh-in line before 3:00 PM Central.

As always, I ask that each of you be good stewards of the CRCCand invite likeminded folks to come and enjoy the fishing and fellowship thatwe experience. First time “guests” can fish with us at N/C unless they place onthe podium and all we ask is that they pay the $20.00 post opening dinnerMembership Dues. Former guests who come back for a second tournament are askedto pay the post dinner $20.00 Membership dues also. Keep in mind that we hold acovered dish social in Jan/Feb to lay out the coming season and Membership Duesare only $10.00 at that time, plus it’s an opportunity to strap on the feedbagfor some fine food.

Please feel free to contact me at any of the below pointswith any questions or concerns. I am attaching a copy of the CRCC Rules in caseany of the new members or guests do not have a copy.

    Best regards,

    Paul Whorton
