    Default Cleaning and Cooking Crappie

This is NOT a recipe, nor a suggestive thing about how to do the above mentioned.
But .......more of a comment/question type venue.
Why again do those little threads of crappie flesh on the filets matter ?
Why do folks pull them off ?
The tacos and taste buds could care less....just saying
KABOOM is the word of the day.
    Happy Thanksgiving to all

What are they? The back strap perhaps.
Why do folks pull them off? No idea. Taste just like the rest of the fillet to me. Collect them, fry them up, and call them crappie fries. Be the next big thing possibly. BTW Some good looking grub there

Our Rat Terrier and I share the strings as the fillets come out of the oil. I like the crispy little strings. Also helps me keep my hands off the rest of the fillets till time to eat.

When we got a Turtle, they get some of them , but our rat terrier gets the filet wash with a bit of breading tossed in and about 30 to 45 seconds in the micro...

The Shep loves fish. The little Bulldog will eat anything we give him.
