Default OLD forgotten game meat in the freezer

Would you attempt consumption of said item ? It was only 6.5 years old !
We ate it for the last 2 days and you wish you were here for the past perfection that ensued .
Today it will be day 3 eating it and its been in tacos and steaks and it is some kinda of tasty .
I seasoned it and let it sit in the frig another 3 days after I defrosted my find and it looked like last years meat when I defrosted it .
Frozen in water is for sure the best way I have ever encountered to keep fish and game in great condition for lengths of time in the freezer .....
cut thin and a cast iron rodeo is how we cooked it and for sure .....mmmmm

I find that freezing in water is the best method. I know that this is not always practical so if it is over 2 years old and not frozen in water, I throw it out. Before the hurricanes, we had a place that rescued wild animals and about once a year they would ask hunters and fishermen/woman if they had any old meat in their freezer they were going to throw, if they could have it to feed the animals.

As long as it's not freezer burned it should be good for a VERY long time. Freezing in water and vacuum sealing are the best ways I've found to prevent that.

Personally I have found meat like that which my wife wants to toss but I thaw it out give it the old sniff test and if it isn't freezer burned cook it and have never had a bad experience. IF it has remained frozen whole time, no biggie at all IMO

A large enough piece of meat the freezer burn can be cut off of it

I would absolutely eat it unless of course it smelled funny. You sir are a food artist!
