    Default FARM raised fish

and shrimp are best not to consume if you can avoid it , just a word of caution .
the things they do to raise them would disgust you and freak you out if you ever ate any in the past .
the chemicals and etc. etc. that go into raising a food crop of fish is just WOW !
I recently watched a documentary on raising fish that opened my eyes considerably about "sustainable" methods to help our planet .
the dolphin safe tuna was a total joke and the salmon were just really nasty and the list went on and on .
now mind you this , it is pretty difficult to avoid "farm raised " these days if you go out to eat or buy it from the grocery store ,and to make it worse sometimes they "cheat" on labeling terribly about what where and when to entice the more health conscious folks into the purchase .
even "fresh gulf shrimp" very well might be from Asia ,not kidding .
probably best if you ketch and consume your own fish from waters you know well .
just a quick shout out to yawl ...
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales

Grow it, raise it, hunt, trap or catch it is the only way you know what you are getting these days

yeah NO farm raised fish ever look at label's but like outlaw said sometimes they fudge. NEVER buy any Talapia as it is grown primarily in salton sea area which is horrendously polluted and terrible, no matter what it says. Unless your sticking your own talapia in FL with a bow of some kind or hooking them.

go to WI every year and go out on charter and that's where we get our Salmon and lake trout or coho. plus it's so much fun for the wives as well.

The Casinos here serve a lot of shrimp on their buffets. My wife is allergic to antibiotics but loves shrimp. It took us a few trips to the buffet to figure out it was the shrimp breaking her out in hives. Afterwards the local paper said the shrimp comes from China and are loaded with antibiotics.

You would think it would be cheaper to buy local shrimp when you consider they are farmed in ponds, given antibiotics, they cost of feed, then processing, and shipping from China to here.
