it just wouldn’t be summertime without a big pot of peas & okra simmered ever so carefully with onion & bacon. Just like Grandma used to make. Now all I need is some cornbread and IT’S ON!!!

And for dessert.......my Mama’s buttermilk pie.

You bet. Sorry I’m just now getting around to checking on new comments.

    Carolyn’s Buttermilk Pie
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream 1 stick real butter and 1 cup white sugar. Beat in 3 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla. Now add alternately 3 Tablespoons flour, 1/8 tsp salt, and 1 cup buttermilk. You’ll need a deep dish pie shell. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then turn down the oven to 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until golden brown and a knife comes out clean.

Let it cool and then you’ll be KABOOMING like Ketchn when you taste it. Enjoy.
