That looks awesome!! How do you make your refried beans? I only have used the canned for convenience and know the homemade should be healthier.

We take pinto beans and a bit of onion , garlic and pork pcs and slow simmer them until they are soft .
Then we put a bunch in the cast iron skillet with a bit of oil and start the frying part .
Salt and pepper to taste and ...
We add milk to them to thicken them as we squish them as we stir
They should look a bit runny as they thicken up a lot as they cool down
Cheese on top after finished is optional

Deer back strap slow cooked on a pellet grill to a nice medium rare is by far my favorite meal. My wife thinks I cooked beef steak. To bad my 5 yr old in plugged the freezer a week after deer season went out...

Another nice spread of vittles for sure. I agree that man was wonderfully designed to eat well from the bounty of God's Creation and be thankful for same.
Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

can't say I would do backstrap like that as it is just too incredible for words in it's natural state of medium rare. but open to new things and those slices of avocado look inviting and love me some refried beans!
