The more you use it the more our going to like it. Do yourself a favor and don’t use anything but lump charcoal in it. Keeps down the ash that will clog up your vent holes in the ceramic bowl. Lot cleaner that way and if you shut it down as soon as you finish a cook you will be surprised how little charcoal you use.
Thanks for the info, I will look at the Home Depot Visions.
As for rusting out issues, for years I have been using metal pans that fit the bottom of the grill well to keep the fire in, not thin aluminum foil pans or just foil, but good well made pans. Makes it easier to clean out, too. Aluminum is a plus, Walmart and others carry them, just know your dimensions. I have not had a grill to rust out in many years.
Just get your measurements for your grill, and a couple of inches or so high on the sides.
I only use Kingsford or Royal Oak Charcoal.
I have a large compressed air storage tank that I will turn into a pellet grill when the Pit Boss rusts out. The heavy wall tank should last a lifetime
I’ve had my bge for close to 15 years. Replaced a $20 gasket. Looking at the pics of the Vision , it’s not as thick as an egg. I have the xl. Yea it’s expensive, but barring an accident where the table collapses or something, it’ll last my lifetime.

I have had a kamado Joe for going on 4 years. I absolutely love it. I use it about 3 or 4 times a week year round hot or cold it doesn't matter. I have used the warranty twice so far. Both was my mistakes and they replaced with no questions asked. Warranty claim was quick turnaround both times less than 10 days from claim to new part arriving in mail. Im hoping to purchase another one soon for my lake house.
Sounds awesome
A key move that works for me is to use a substantial pan in the bottom for the charcoal. Aluminum foil or placing coals on the bottom does not get it. Aluminum or stainless pans sold for oven baking in the size needed work great for me. Sometimes they can be found at thrift stores and yard sales cheap, cheap.
I get many years out of my grills without worries of the bottom rusting out in just a few years.
