    Default NuWave air fryer

Tried something different with the crappie in the air fryer this time. I have had trouble getting the batter to cook up and taste right so I switched to bread crumbs this time. Cooked on 400* for 12-15 minutes depending on thickness of filet. I have to say the turned out the best I’ve done so far. I poured the bread crumbs in a ziploc bag and shook filets until they were coated lightly. I sprayed olive oil (until I ran out!) and then regular butter cooking spray on them. Like I said this was the best technique so far! They tasted great. Just thought I would share for those who are trying to learn the air fryer secrets like me!

You put Ketchup on beans? I know you don't put it on crappie.

I'm with "Boa3"! No ketchup on fish, dogs, brats or burgers!
I'll bet you could find a great recipe for making your own fish
dressing (not talking about tartar sauce) on-line, like I did.
BTW, keep up the great work with the air fryer experiments,
I may just have to go out and get one. Does it make a crispy
batter or is it soggy from the water in the fillets?

It’s is crispy. The ketchup was used only because we had nothing else. Lol...Will have to find a better recipe next time! Ha.

Try coating the fillets with mayo than coat with bread crumbs. I do it for all my frying. Everything comes out nice and crispy, the mayo acts like a barrier to keep out grease and keeps natural juices inside. Daughter uses it for her air fryer all the time. You get a nice even coat of crumbs.
