This has been a phenomenal year catching quality crappie on my home lake Greenwood.
I still love being on the water here as much as I did over 60 years ago with my father and brother.
    Good memories.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

My wife and I went catfishing one night on my pontoon and I was kneeling down taking a fish off and had my headlamp on to see what I was doing. The next thing my wife sees is me falling backwards because a bat was trying to get bugs and smacked me right in the head!!! Scared the crap right out of me. We still laugh about that night.

Some years ago I took a friends teenage son out to night fish a private lake from shore. Knowing his inexperience casting I parked in area with minimal vegetation along the shoreline in which for him to get hung up on. I rigged the first rod up with a Hula Popper and let him go over to the lake and make few casts while I rigged the other rod. He hadn’t no more gotten over there it seemed when calls to me says he’s got the lure snagged. I told him to not mess with and in a minute I would bring the light over and help him. I must say I was quite surprised when I got there to see the line going straight up above his head. As I followed the line with the light, I found the ONLY tree limb around him was 35-40ft. straight up and that’s what he was hung on. When he had told me earlier that “he could cast a Zebco but that he wasn’t real accurate yet”, I saw he was telling the truth. lol

Shortly after moving here to Missouri, I went fishing at Fellows Lake. I didn't have a boat so fishing from shore. I fished for several hours and nothing, then luck struck and I caught one of the biggest bass I have caught, an 18 inch beauty...

Here's my buddy PR and me holding up some slabs from a couple of weeks ago..........we look funny enough as it is, much less tuning in to listening to some of the goings on around our camp. We did have a ball! *As always, I did all my catchin' using either my Sam's Sensitive 6'er or my Buck's 12' jig pole.

We fished a small lake that we usually do pretty well at. On this day, we caught a lot of fish. Not one measured 10 inches!Name: 20190325_155151.jpeg
