My wife and I went catfishing one night on my pontoon and I was kneeling down taking a fish off and had my headlamp on to see what I was doing. The next thing my wife sees is me falling backwards because a bat was trying to get bugs and smacked me right in the head!!! Scared the crap right out of me. We still laugh about that night.

There is a young man that I have taken crappie fishing 4 or 5 times and he's been begging me to take him again. Last Saturday, our schedules lined up and I told him we could go. I also told him a front was going to be blowing through and it could get a little rough. He said he didn't care. He just wanted to fish, so we went. About 10:00 that morning the front came in. The temperature dropped by 17 degrees and the wind kicked up to between 17 and 20 mph. As we sometimes say down here, "It got Western, real fast". We moved to a shallow cove and fished for a couple of more hours but it was not a warm and relaxing day on the water. I thought this may have ruined him from fishing, but he called the next morning to see if I was ready to go out again. I think he's going to make it!Name: 20190330_192521.jpeg

No pictures anymore, unfortunately, but my grandparents lived on a private lake. I can remember every night I stayed with them most summers, sitting on the floating dock with my grampa and feeding the fish. From the time I was 4 or 5 until they sold they house when I was prolly 13...

I love the West! Love to vacation there and fish for wild Cutthroats. Only get to go every few years, but enjoy the country more each visit.Name: IMG_1093.jpg

For last years SC/NC Clash I had pre-fished High Rock lake several times and was skunked everytime. Time came for the clash and I was so worried about being skunked again. I ended up catching enough for the weigh in and did very respectable. I was so happy.
