Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a retirement plan...FISHING!
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

My 9 year old son and I was fishing in a city lake earlier this week. Both of us was using ultralight spinning gear as it’s full of bluegill and small bass. We caught several of each species and as the sun got higher we began to started tossing under the overhanging trees into the shade. One cast I caught a bass that was about 14” and released it and cast right back in the same spot. No sooner than the jig hit the water I felt a thump so I set the hook and began to reel. Before I could ever see the fish it saw the boat and the drag began to scream. I fought it for roughly 5 minutes before we ever caught a glimpse of it. It was a 20+ pound grass carp. Another 3 or so minutes pass before I got it worn down enough to have a chance for my son to try to net it. As soon as the head of the carp touched the net it gave one last burst of energy nearly dragging my son off the bow of the boat. Unfortunately the short time it was in the net it spit the jig which I saw was right in its top lip and got away. We laughed about that carp nearly dragging him in until we hurt and he enjoyed seeing me fight it for so long and him getting a chance to try to net something that big more than any of the fish he caught himself.

“Ebner has come up with a way to keep other fishermen from fishing too close to him”. But I sez to him, I sez “Eb carrying that Limburger cheese, in yo pocket, will even keep you from being able to fish around yo’self”.
