Go to have a good time and you always will.
When in doubt...bring dynamite!
Get out and enjoy the time on the water. Minnows under a lighted slip float can produce good numbers of fish and avoid the daytime crowds and boat traffic.
When your spider rigging and you think you are going too slow..........slow down some more.
Make sure and read all the information you can on Crappie.com!

Don't try to keep up with the jones's , catching is more about presentation ,color than most would care to admit . A rigged jig pole and five dollars worth of jigs will do for starting .
Take it one step at a time and always keep an open mind! Just as soon as you think you have them figured out they will change!
Use minnows until you get the feel of them pulling on your line then move to jigs and wait for the THUMP!!!

Show them a lure they dont see very often. If you are throwing what everyone else is throwing the fish have seen it plenty of times. Stand out from the crowd, be it slower retrieve, lighter jig head to slow the fall, hand tied jigs such as the Gray Ghost. Small changes can bring big success.
