Don't forget the pics?
My Mother passed away in 2008 at 97 years of age. One of the things I used to do after my father died was to run up to see her and fish a small lake where I could always catch a few crappie. I would take them to her house, clean them and we would enjoy fresh crappie. She always bragged about me cooking her fresh fish and how much she liked them.
I realize now what she really liked was for me to come visit her. I wish I had figured it out earlier and had gone more often when I had the chance.

My mom has always been there if I needed her for anything. She has worked hard all of her life and when we were kids she would go without to make sure her 6 kids had what they needed, not what we wanted but what we needed. Between her and dad I don't remember them ever saying ( I wish I had) like we hear so many times today.
Mom was 79 last year and never had be sick besides a cold once in a while but at a check up they seen something with her heart that wasn't right. She had to go into the hospital to have a heart value replaced. I hope I never have to see mom hooked up like she was in ICU. I took this picture 7 days after the surgery after around 90% of the wires and tubes were removed.
Every day she was in the hospital I went to see her. I prayed each day that mom would recover and that she would be able to come home. I took her little gifts and flowers as did many others. She would tell me that she wanted fried crappie (fried all of things!) when she got home.
Finally mom recovered and was able to come home and she did have (baked) crappie fillets.
A picture from last Christmas and mom at 80. So blessed to have mom and able to get a picture of her and myself, my daughter and two of my grand kids, 4 generations.
We lost dad in 1985 and I miss him each day, he was my best friend but Moms are so special because of the love they can give their children. For mom this year I will be going to her church that morning and taking her to lunch, but my biggest gift I will be giving her is for her to know how much she is loved by me, her son.
Love You Mom,
Ronnie
Sorry but I forgot a photo in my previous post. This is my mother walking down the hall the morning after her hip replacement. 75 years young. She will kill me for posting this photo but I just could not resist.
To make life enjoyable, you must have crappie days.
