I woke up this morning in Northern Illinois. Walked out to the car, had to walk around front of it to get into it. Couldn't do it!
I slid down the driveway on my feet. It was unreal how slippery the driveway was after the ice storm. Actually it was still raining ice! Not snow, raining ice! Water that would turn to ice as soon as it contacted anything.
I could not get to the car door. I ended up sliding all the way down the driveway, then I hobbled over the the snow on the grass, and walked back up to the car on the other side of the driveway. Crazy!
So I went for my scraper! Doh, what a scraper. Heck, where is a scraper! I had no scraper in the car, I was going to Florida, who's gonna need one there!
Now I had to go back around the front of the car over the ice to get a scraper out the house. Well darn if I was not going to try it again, and again down the driveway I slid. I'm just lucky I did not slip and fall on my buttocks!
When it was all said and done I made it out of Illinois safe and sound. Indiana was another story. Fog, fog and more fog. They had snow on the ground and the temp was warm. You do the math. There was fog just about till I got down to meet Billbob.
He had lunch all made and ready for me. He's got a nice house with lots of parking. Even has a drive through window! lol
So as you can tell, I eventually did make it down.
81 degrees. Now we're talkin.
And what a great way to break up the drive. I had lunch with Billbob on the first days drive. And I had the pleasure of having lunch with Ragfly Jig Man (and his better half) on the second leg of the drive in Cordele Georgia. Thanks. Crappie.com members are the best.
